Bat Box Bash

What is the best part of October? HALLOWEEN! What better way to show your Halloween spirit than through supporting your local bat populations? Bats are super important to our watershed because they are key pollinator animals AND they control insect populations! Maryland Coastal Bays Program wants to keep our bats happy and healthy by providing them with a warm, safe place to live through the winter season.
The Bat Box Bash event is for those of you interested in building your own bat roost, hearing from a local bat expert, enjoying refreshments, and taking home your freshly built bat home! Come as an individual or bring your whole family to join in the festivities!
The workshop requires an $80 registration fee for materials. In order to have as many bat roosts installed by winter and because of the a quick turn around a fee is required.
Maryland Coastal Bays Program is aiming to offer a FREE workshop series this spring prompting bay friendly backyards!
