Explore beautiful Schumaker Pond on a bird walk every Wednesday at the Ward Museum starting at 9am.
Led by a museum educator, our Wednesday Bird Walks are a great way to see the diverse population of birds found on the Eastern Shore. Perfect for seasoned birdwatchers, nature enthusiasts, and everyone in between!
Participants will also help the museum record data on local migrating bird populations. This information is submitted to the Cornell Lab of Ornithology‘s eBird citizen science program.
eBird provides the opportunity to collect real data for real scientific purposes. The need for this data is particularly great on the lower Eastern Shore of Maryland, where numerous birds live, yet limited eBird data is collected.
